Strapless wonder! In the shop now...

I've been thinking about New Year's and this was the result. Classic black brocade with just loads of sparkle tulle edging the hem and bodice. A line of sequines details the flounce. This dress is fully lined with heirloom quality cotton batiste and closes with a zipper in the back. Zipper and tulle/sequine flounce are hand sewn in. Because of the slim fit of the dress, it defies gravity and holds itself up. Delightfully risque. Perfect for ringing in the New Year. Cheers!

Formal gown sets - UPDATE

All the formal gowns now close with a zipper. Because of the slim fit of these dresses, they do NOT have a lined bodice. All the seams are fray-checked. Each set comes with a matching hair bow and tulle petticoat. Price is still the same: $52.00.

Increase in my postal rates!

I finally did an accounting of my real shipping costs and found out that I was LOSING money on shipping. Sigh...... Anyway, I really can't afford to do that, so I'm increasing my shipping rates by $.50 across the board. My apologies, but I don't see any way around it. Shipping first class with insurance in the US is now $4.00 and International first class is now $3.50. Adding another item will be $2.00 in the US and $1.50 Internationally.

The financial realities of life can suck a bit sometimes.....

More sneak peaks!

Right now I'm aiming for Friday, December 12th as the launch date for my Bronte Noel collection. It will be a close call for international sales, but all domestic shipping will certainly be good for Christmas. All pieces will be ready to ship and go out immediately as they are purchased. There will be 5 sets of party dresses (each with a bow or bloomers) 5 mini dresses, 3 formal gowns (including a tulle petticoat) and 3 faux fur coats. There may be more if I can get them done. I may also do a limited number of special requests after the fact, if you miss out on a design that you really want. Special requests will be on a first come, first serve basis and I will not be able to confirm shipping for Christmas delivery. Sorry about that.
Hope your Holidays are going well! xoxo, Emily

Couple of Noel goodies....

Hope you all had a fabulous turkey day!!! I'm just finishing 5 new Noel Mini's for the shop and continuing on all the rest. The fancy dress with the lace up bodice is a piece I'm really excited about. I'll probably make 3 of them in different fabrics. I'm just about to get started on some party dresses with tulle trims that I hope will come out nicely too. I also have a black faux fur coat with a leopard collar that I hope you all love as well. Will update with photos when I have the chance. Stay tuned.....

Introducing Mimi and Gigi

Ahhhhh, Miss Jenny of London has the most adorable collection of Blythe dolls EVER! Here are two of her darling creatures; Mimi (the Blythe) and Gigi (the bunny). Miss Mimi is wearing the Viola dress and matching capelette and looking very dashing, I must say. Gigi bunny is complements of Lisa/Ragazza of Blythe Studio fame. She makes the most awe inspiring bunnies and custom dolls that we can't help but drool all over ourselves here in GodesiaLand. Sigh....

Check out Jenny's photostream on Flickr; http://www.flickr.com/photos/58516272@N00/

And, Lisa's too; http://www.flickr.com/photos/petitewanderlings/

Almost done!

In a couple days all my orders will be finished and in the mail. Phew!!!! And, I've come to the conclusion that I don't really like to take orders for dresses because it's too hard for me to correctly gauge how long it will take me to finish large amounts of doll clothes. This has been too hard on me and all my clients as well. My stress levels were way too high this summer over getting them all done. Soooooooo, I'm going back to listing dresses on etsy when they are done. I hope to list small collections of things in the coming weeks, all of which will be ready to ship immediately. I hope this new direction will suit all of you as well.

Wishing you a lovely fall season,

xoxo, Emily

Box Bag constuction

Just wanted to add a little information on how these bags are constucted. The boxes themselves are made from scratch from balsa wood. So, lots of sawing and sanding and glueing is involved just to make the form for the bag. Then I paint the background color, add the imagry (in this case, decals) and glue on the rhinestones. Then I painted the glow-in-the-dark stars and eyes. And, as the finishing touch, painted on four coats of glossy varnish. The hardware was added last and glued into place. Very time consuming and fussy work. But, so much fun when all finished. The inside of these bags is plain and unvarnished. I didn't want the bag sides to stick together. That's it for now. They are up on etsy and ready to go!

Halloween box bags!

I was inspired to try my hand at box bags last week and this was the result. Five bags, all OOAK, and ready to be mailed. Three of the bags are 1.5" square and the other two are 1" square. They are decorated on both sides and have solid brass hinges. All are sealed with 4 coats of glossy varnish and embellished with glow in the dark stars, moons and eyes and Swarovski rhinestones. They are $36.50 each. Check my Flickr pages for more photos; http://www.flickr.com/photos/godesia/
I'll be loading these bags up Friday, October 24th in the afternoon. Unfortunately, I'm too disorganized to get a specific time together. My apologies for that. I hope you like them! Hugs and kisses to you all and a very happy HALLOWEEN!!!!

Dad back from Hospital

I'm very glad to report that my dad is back from the hospital and well on the mend. So, it looks like I won't have to make the trip up north any time soon. Yay!!! I'll be starting a new production run in a couple days. I'm just beat and need a day or two off to re-charge my batteries. I should be able to finish all the orders I have back logged in this next run, which I hope to finish in about a week and a half. Then it's on to Christmas goodies.... wheeeeee!

Current state of affairs

Hi everybody! I'm currently working like mad to get up to date on dresses. I have 26 dresses on my plate to finish before I can get to my plans for the Bronte Noel line. And, as a heads up, my dad went into the hospital a few days ago being unable to swallow (freak reaction to his blood pressure medicine) so I may have to fly up to Michigan to help out for a bit. Hopefully this will not happen, but if it does I will keep you all posted here and in my etsy shop announcement with all the news on your orders! Please feel free to convo me through etsy if you have any concerns. I'll get back to you as quickly as I can.

xoxo, Emily

The Belle mini dress and Viola reversible capelette

The Belle mini dress and the Viola reversible capelette are now up in the shop!
The Belle mini is 100% cotton with fine French lace around the bodice and inset lace with ribbons around the skirt and up the bodice. A bow with a Swarovski rhinestone detail accents the bodice as well. Fully lined with heirloom quality batiste cotton. Polka dots and stripes just make our day around here!
The Viola capelette is fully reversible in 100% cotton with pink button details and a 2 snap closure. Fabrics match the Viola dress. Looks great with the Drucilla too!
I'm currently working on orders and designing my Bronte Noel line for Christmas. Hopefully I'll get all that up in the store in a few weeks so I can make delivery for the Holidays! Yikes!!! Time to go back to work....

Let's hear it for Crissy and Peach Cobbler!

Oh my goodness, we have two lovelies here! Miss Crissy, a Prima Dolly Saffy, is showing off a Godesia skully babydoll dress, which is one of my early attempts as sewing! I've come a long way, I tell you. But pretty cute for a first attempt though, if I don't say so myself!!
Miss Peach Cobbler is modelling one of my most recent creations; the Folkloria dress in Little Red Riding Hood. Note the pink alien toy by VioletPie! Sigh...... and, check out the wonderful Halloween box bag in the background of this pic! I'm delighted to announce that it's going to be mine very soon! I'm soooooo excited about it!!!!

Sneak Peek!

Introducing the Viola reversible capelette! Fully reversible, 100% cotton fabric with a 2 snap closure and 3 pink button details. Won't get into the shop for a week or two (I'm swamped with work). But, the girls have been begging me to show them off. Looks pretty good with the Drucilla too....

Not yet ready to go into the store, but dyin' to get out into the world! Ingrid is showing off the latest Godesia creation. I haven't got the name yet either, but as you can see, rippin' good fun! I have a big backlog of orders to fufill, so I won't get this one in the shop for a week or two. Coming soon though....

Wearin' the Monkey (the squeakymonkey, that is)

Paulette ripped this from the package the minute I got it home. Squeakymonkey from head to foot! We LOVE this complete ensemble from Tiffany!!!!!!! Thanks sweetie, we just can't get enough.

Polka dot babydoll dress with matching bloomers. Two squeaky petticoats, black and white, and classic squeakymonkey striped stockings. Sigh......

Re-vamped Folkloria dresses

Oh, I started on the production of the Folkloria series and decided to finish the seams on the inside of the dress and do a floating hem and armhole. Originally I planned to do exposed seams to keep things simple, but my perfectionism took over and now it's going to be my usual pristine interior. So, anyone who bought the dresses will get the upgraded interior.
