Hurricane Fay!

Yikes! It's hurricane season and we're having our first one today. It just got very windy and icky out. I had to pull all my orchids and plant pots in yesterday and put in hurricane supplies. Hopefully it won't affect my schedule too much. I lost a couple days preparing for all the madness and the post office will be closed for the next 2 days, so shipping will happen at the end of the week or Monday. My house is a wreck with all the plants in it and the cat overturned a pot last night. Sigh..... I'll get over it.... Fay doesn't seem intent on complete destruction.

The Viola

New for the shop! This long sleeved day dress is perfect for a casual afternoon tea or a walk in the garden. Think Scottish moors and misty romantic buggy rides. Oh so gothic novel of us, we know, but we couldn't resist! The whistful dreams of times past have us in their grip....

It's 100% cotton, with a fully lined hand-finished bodice and a 2 snap closure in the back. Finished seams. The palest pink ric-rak and ribbon accent the bold black and white. Silver metal buckle and two tiny pink bottons complete this ensemble.

I will probably drop this into the shop, without fanfare, later today.

Introducing Mochi, the Wonder Frog!

Folkloria dresses on sale TONIGHT, Fri. Aug. 8th, 8:00pm EST!

I'll begin loading these dresses up on my etsy.com site at 8:00 pm EST tonight! Both dress will cost $34.50 and I'll be offering 6 of each to start. I have more fabric on order, so if you want a dress and they're sold out, convo me through etsy or send me a FlickrMail about it. These dresses will go into production about a week from now, so there will be a 2 week wait to get the first batch in the mail. Thanks for your patience!

Folkloria dresses!

On the left we have 'Little Red Riding Hood' and on the right, 'Saru-Kani Kassen'. Saru-Kani Kassen is a Japanese folk tale that encourages children to behave. The monkey is the naughty one in this story and he gets his comeuppance in the end. We all know what happens to Miss Red Hood.....!

These 2 dresses will go up in the shop tomorrow afternoon. They are fully lined, but have open fray-checked seams inside. Two snaps close the dress in the back. I will be offering 6 of each design to begin with and have some more of these fabrics on order. Since I'm still working on previous orders, I will begin making these dresses in about a week. Here's a quick peek at some of the dresses currently in production! I have about 8 orders left to fill to get caught up. I hope to introduce 2 new dresses in a week or so, with a fairy tale theme. Fingers crossed on the time frame. Things always take longer that I anticipate....
