Each set has a dress, apron, socks and hat.

The dresses have loads of French and Cluny lace on the bodice and are lined with my heirloom cotton batiste fabric and close with snaps in the back.

The aprons have hand embroidered pockets in different motifs to match the print of each dress.

The knee socks are made with a cotton/spandex knit fabric and are slathered in more Cluny lace.

The crocheted hats are held firmly in place by combs and have a sweet heart shaped hat pin and lots of flowers and ribbons.

All 13 of these sets will go into my etsy shop tomorrow, Tuesday, August 16th at 8 pm EST. If you miss your favorite set, please convo me through etsy or Flickr. I'll take commissions on these sets for a couple weeks and then they're gone forever...

I plan to get all 13 sets up on etsy on Monday, August 15th, sometime in the afternoon. It always takes me longer than I want to get everything finished but I'm almost done now and will do the photography tomorrow and get everything in the shop by Monday. Whew!

Momocat - pretty classic designs for Blythe and tiny Betsy McCall. She has some tutorial entries too, but your have to dig for them.

Vanilla Latte - beautiful romantic styling. Great blog list and links to check out. She does a lot with petites and other dolls too.

Cherry Merry Muffin - darling Mary Jane type dresses. Classic and fun.

OK, so they're all Japanese, but what wonderful clothes they're making. I'm drooling with my jaw on the floor when I look at all their stuff. Take a look for yourself and see if you agree with me. I went back through all the entries on these blogs and it was worth it. I admit that it's a bit frustrating not to understand Japanese, but the pictures are so beautiful it doesn't really matter. Sigh....

It's hot down here in Florida, super hot, too dang hot and so are these little dress sets, just dripping with color for the heat of summer!

Sometimes plans just go awry...

I was working merrily away on this nautical collection in honor of the upcoming 2011 BlytheCon when both of my parents got sick and I had to go up north to help out for a month. Now my production window has passed and I'm at a bit of a loss. I'll be donating some of this collection as a gift to the Convention, but I just don't have time to make it available for purchase. Sometimes things just don't work out the way you plan but I thought I'd show it all off anyway. So the shop remains empty while I decide what to do and work on a couple other projects that have taken on more importance since I went up north.

I hope to try my hand at smocking along with some more embroidery in the near future. I'm waiting for a box of lovely fabric that I bought when I was in Michigan helping out the rental units. They had some charming old fashioned types of prints that I just fell in love with. Pictures to come soon....

Sydney Blythe Convention's Beauty Competition Prize!

It's just been confirmed to me from the adorable Tanya/Tamsart that my Old Fashioned Girl set will be the prize for the Sydney Blythe Convention's Beauty Competition! Here's the group shot of everything that went into the package. The tiny top hat is hiding in the box. It's already on it's way to Australia for the Sydney Blythe Convention 2011.

Linen suit jacket and skirt. The jacket is lined and beaded and the skirt has a kick-pleat that matches the lining of the jacket. Snap closures.

Polka dot net petticoat and striped stockings. The petticoat has the matching lace from the rest of the set and the stockings have little bow details.

Sundress and matching pantalettes. Both of these pieces have a wonderful French Valencienne lace details. the pantalettes also have a wonderful net lace insertion.

Two bows, a pair of butterfly earrings and a cameo necklace are set up on this card. The earrings and necklace have real fresh water pearls.

The darling Tanya/Tamsart assures me that she has some ingenious plan to give this all away to some lucky winner, so good luck to you all! I'll give you all an update as the plan emerges...

Party Dress Sets!

Each set has loads of trim, sequins around the waist, a velcro closure (for easy on and off) and a matching hair bow (with a hairpin attachment). I re-tooled a favorite pattern of mine (my itty bitty baby doll top) into a mini dress and encrusted it with laces, and sparkly Christmas trims. Each of these dresses have button details and a velcro closure for easy on and off. The eyelash trim was sooooooo small it had to sewn on by hand. Ditto the tinsel trims. If you see anything here that has sold in the shop, just drop me a line. I'll gladly re-make it for you. Happy Holidays sweeties!

Snow drifting over pretty pines and the smell of apple cider and yummy baked goods waft through the house..... Pleeeese! It's a sunny 74 degrees here in Florida today, not a snowflake in sight. I must admit I miss the northern winter fun and it makes it a bit harder to get in the Christmas spirit, but I'm doing my best.

In the shop I have a few Mod and retro styles to amuse you, a smattering of hats and some more goodies to come. If you see anything that has already sold just give me a holler on etsy or Flickr and I'll remake it for you.

Computer problems resolved (mostly...)

After being without a computer for almost a month now, I finally got myself back in the saddle with a new one. And may I say that as much as I do rely on and love computers, I've pretty much had it with PC. Next computer will be a Mac. I won't bore you too much with the details, but lets just say that if an operating system won't let you install software without a huge fight then it's a piece of junk. It's been 2 days since getting this new beast and it still won't let me install iTunes, OpenOffice, or Safari. System 7 looks pretty, but my God, give me a break already with 3 different levels of Windows 7 (home, pro, and ultimate) and the hefty price tags as you go up the scale. I haven't even tried to get my Adobe design suite on yet. Without them I'm pretty much dead in the water.
OK, enough with the computer moaning...

In the meantime, I've been sewing my little fingers off to complete the Brontë Slumber Party Collection. I'm almost done. I'm currently working on Gothic Lolita dresses and have finished Cami's, bustiers, baby doll tops, pantalettes, petticoats and bloomer onsies. Next up will be bloomers, bra's and panties.

Last call for the Brontë Slumber Party!

It's last call time for the Brontë Slumber Party Collection. I've taken just about all the orders that I can manage and will be closing down the store again this weekend. If there's anything that you've been wanting to get, now is the time.

Next week I'll begin cutting for the whole production run, and I won't be taking any more orders from this collection while I finish the run. I'll post pictures of my progress as I go along, so you can see how it's going.

I have put in a couple big lace orders and expect to get those in the mail in the next couple weeks (one is coming from England and will take a bit of time to get here). I'll start working on things in the meantime, like bunny slippers, that don't depend on the lace that's coming.

The Brontë Slumber Party is here!

For your viewing pleasure I have 16 different items, all in a boudoir theme. There are 4 sections to this collection; sleepwear, streetwear, intimates and accessories. Each piece is sold individually and can be customized by color. Check the individual descriptions to see what colors are available for each piece.

Please note that this collection is pre-order and will be delivered in 6-8 weeks. Simple Pintucked Shift

This classic nightie has a bodice decorated with three rows of little pintucks centered around a row of baby entredeux and trimmed around by some pretty French lace. The flared skirt has two rows of pintucks highlighted by cotton Cluny lace and the bottom flounce is finished off by another French lace. Three tiny bows in front and two tiny bows in back complete the look. One snap closure in the back. Ribbon shoulder straps.

Oh so simple and sweet! This baby doll nightie top has three rows of tiny pintucks around a row of baby entredoux set off by a row of lace. The bodice is trimmed with the tiniest lace trim ever and has a wide skirt trimmed up with 2 more kinds of French lace. Four different laces in all! One snap closure in the back. Adorned with a tiny bow in front and two tiny bows in back. Ribbon shoulder straps. It is equally nice as a stand alone piece or paired with the pantalettes or the tiny panties from the intimates section.

The Brontë Slumber Party - so far....

Well, here's the collection so far. I have a romper, pouty crocheted bunny slippers, a tiny camisole, a fancy petticoat, luxury bloomers (shown in the second pic), a long nightgown, a fancy bow, a babydoll top and pantalettes. All these items are made in my heirloom quality cotton batiste fabric and are fully laden with French laces and cotton trims. I'm not done yet and have plans for a few more items.

Each of these pieces can be done in any color that I have in stock. I'll give a complete list of all the colors soon. I have 2 linen/cotton blend fabrics in a handkerchief weight that I need to try out to see if they will work as well.

I'll be taking pre-order/custom orders on etsy as soon as I'm finished with the whole collection and have a chance to do the final photography. Once orders are in I'll order supplies and do a production run. How long these will be in the shop will depend on the demand, so we'll have to see how it all goes.

Bronte Slumber Party - update

The bunny slippers are hand crocheted by me and have tiny bead eyes and embroidered faces.

It's my intention to create about 10 different pieces (that's the plan anyway, it doesn't always work out that way, LOL) and once they are done, I'll do a final photo shoot and list everything with the price here on my blog.

All the pieces will be sold separately and as pre-orders. I'll put up a notice on Flickr once I have a date set for the pre-orders to start.

Back from Vacation and working on the Bronte Slumber Party collection

I'm back from vacation and am settling in to do some serious designing. Since I got a new pattern book, Dollybird 10, I'm really inspired to make some yummy summer nighties and lingerie goodies. This issue is chock full of fabulous creations for a whole range of dolls, large and small. I've been cutting some of the bigger ones down for Blythe with mixed success. I got my issue from evilbay and you can too as there are a few left up for grabs.

The pink confection below was designed for the Living Dead Doll and worked out rather well for Blythe with just a few tweaks for length and width. I kinda love that old-fashioned onsie look.

If you want to drool all over yourself, go have a look at Daisy D's blog. She designs for Blythe and Momoko etc. and has contributed a bunch of patterns to the Dolly Dolly Coordination Recipe pattern books and Dollybird too. I swoon every time I go over there. Don't say I didn't warn you....

Godesia is going on Vacation!

I'm buried under a pile of custom orders till the end of the month and then I'm taking a well deserved vacation. The shop will be closed until I get back. In the meantime I'm planning a couple of clothes collections; A Bronte Summer Slumber Party (see the pics below for a little preview) and A Midsummer Night's dream dress collection.

I also found some more of that wonderful cravat lace for the Mod Mini dress and may offer up a few more of those as well.

I'm leaving you with some pictures of the FAB fabric I found for the Midsummer Night's dream dresses. All so light and airy, YUM! And I got some lovely iridescent lame's to boot. I'll be having lots of fun in July with this new fabric stash....

Sneak peak - Lightweight Summer Gown

Here's a little preview of what's coming down the pike here in GodesiaLand. I'll be making a series of these super lightweight cotton gowns that are just perfect for a soft summer night. So light and crisp that the dress needs no petticoat, it's puffy and beautiful all on it's own.

The bodice is lined with my heirloom quality cotton batiste and has a one snap closure in the back. I've used a fine quality French lace to adorn the bodice and hem. Sweet and romantic...

If you like the Spring Garden design on a hat you may like it just as well on a sweater. Many thanks to Cat for her fabulous idea! These little wool sweaters have been adorned with lots and lots of buttons, beads, sequins and embroidery to match the Spring Garden kitty hats and have working buttons. They can be worn with the buttonholes to the front or back for 2 different looks.

Butterfly Dreams kitty hat

Brand new and coming down the production pike we have the Butterfly Dreams kitty hat. This little hat is 100% wool and felted with love in my washing machine and then adorned with a wee caterpillar sitting on a mushroom, who is dreaming of the day she will become a beautiful butterfly.

The caterpillar and mushroom are 100% cotton and appliqued on the hat. The butterfly is cotton fabric and has a wire armature with an interfacing backing with embroidered antennae. The body of the butterfly is made of rhinestones. Embroidered leaves with flower buttons complete the scene.

If you would like a custom color hat just let me know what you would like.

Each hat is $45 and is available as a made-to-order item in my shop now.

Spring has sprung here in Florida and I've got flowers on the brain. Thought I put a few on Blythe too. Lucky me, I found the elusive yellow and orange today at Joann's. I picked up a rose pink, seafoam and a couple new greens as well. The light peach is a bit washed out in this photo, but it's solidly peach. The fire engine red is way too saturated. I couldn't get it to render correctly, but it's a Santa Claus red, take my word for it.

I'm currently working on a few new designs for the shop with a Mod type edge and a reasonable price. This little mini dress is unlined with fray-checked seams and a velcro closure in back. It's 100% cotton with cuffs and collar in my classic cotton batiste. This piece is topped off with a pretty flower at the neck.

I finally tried my hand at some wool felted kitty hats. Now that I moved into a house (with a washing machine, Yay!) it was easy and fun to do. Each one is 100% wool with felted wool flowers in OOAK designs. These hats tie under the chin and have a matching flower adorning the end of each tie. Forest Slumber Dress

I scored a stack of yummy Japanese import fabrics from SuperBuzzy the other day and have gone wild with joy over them. This is the first goody to pop out of the shop. I just love all things mushroom, so it's right up my alley. And, my local JoAnn's store finally decided to stock this tiny pom pom trim that I've been drooling over for 2 years now. Yay!!!

This dress is all cotton with a one snap closure in the back. Both of the prints are Japanese import fabrics. Embroidered cotton trim and pom pom trim give the dress a sweet flare. Cotton heirloom batiste fabric is used on the sleeves and neck liner. Open seams have been fray checked for stability. Tiny bow detail.

I remember these from the 70's. Donny Osmond wore them to death for awhile there. I never had one, my parents were very conservative, but I sure liked the look of them! I found a pattern online for a people sized one and cut it down to fit Blythe and then went mad for a day making them! What's that, you'd like the people sized one for yourself? Re-build!

I've been getting really antsy with the look of this blog and finally had to admit to myself last night that I must bite the bullet and customize the darn thing. Hopefully in the coming weeks I'll have worked out all the details and put up a totally new design. Since this is NOT my area of expertise, I'm a bit worked up over the nuts and bolts of it all. As you can see, I tried to give it a face-lift last night, but it's just not doing what I want it to do quite yet. Please bear with me while we're in construction. You may see several different looks while I mull over what I really want.

I swore I wouldn't work today, but I lied to myself. I drifted into my craft room and this is what spewed out! I posted the pics on Flickr and started getting requests, so it's only fair to offer them up to you all.

Production status of the Black and White Ball

Everything is cut out in the picture and Paulette is overseeing the whole shebang. She's a very fussy girl!

Here I'm working on the Sinistra's and I've done a lot of the prep work for the other outfits. You can see that Paulette is already wearing a finished Francine dress. That particular dress was a custom request as a part of a set. (one Francine in white and the other black)

Above are a few of the photo's I've been taking during my production of the Black and White Ball Collection. I'm further along already than these photo's suggest because they are a few days old already. I took orders for this collection for one week and then started cutting. The cutting took me 3 days to complete and now I'm about half way through the sewing. I hope to finish everyone's outfits by the end of this week. The Sabrina Dress. When I found this beautiful embroidered fabric I knew something wonderful was going to happen. It's ever so light and crispy with a gorgeous loft. Perfect for a summer evening. This dress has my classic heirloom cotton batiste lining in the bodice and the puffiest little sleeves ever! The waistline is accented with a embroidered belt that I made from the same fabric. Two snap closure in the back. $38.00

The Sabrina Coat. Oh Lordy, how I love this coat! I was up till the wee hours last night getting it ready for it's photoshoot today and it turned out even better than my wildest dreams. Really, it's a couture piece. Beautiful embroidered cotton fabric is super crisp and lightweight. It is fully lined (even the sleeves) and the heirloom cotton batiste lining is sewn in by hand (and hand hemmed as well). It has a 4 snap closure down the front and a pretty decorative button on the collar. The beautiful embroidery continues down the back of the coat as well. The Sinistra Dress. I've been sooooo inspired by Jenny's collection of dolls and clothes that I just had to pay her a little homage, and the Sinistra was born! Classic pindot cotton fabric gets a divinely gothic edge with a bold pointy collar. This dress is lined with my heirloom quality cotton batiste and has the beloved puffy sleeves. Tiny bows and pom pom trim completes the timeless look. Two snap closure in the back. $36.00

The Gigi Dress. Classic 50's stying will make this one turn heads! It features a yummy floral cotton fabric offset with crisp black. The bodice is lined with my classic heirloom cotton batiste and I've topped it all off with a jeweled velvet bow. Two snap closure in the back. $32.00

The Twiggy Mod Coat. I just had to do it! The vinyl kept called to me from across my craft room and the Twiggy Coat was born! This vinyl fabric has a felt backing and needs no lining. The Lipton Jumpsuit Set. You get everything pictured here; the jumpsuit, the vest and the scarf! Such a deal!! The jumpsuit is cotton with a lined neckline and a velcro closure in the back. The vest is vinyl with hand sewn pockets and the cotton scarf has a fringe! Groovy baby! $35.00

The Peggy Mod Dress. This is a sweet swingy little mod number has long sleeves and a Flowered belt. The sleeves have elastic at the wrists and the dress closes with velcro in the back. Lined neckline. 100% cotton fabric. $28.00

The Clara Coat Dress. This is another rock solid piece with elaborate structure! This dress is fully lined with my classic heirloom quality cotton batiste and has ribbon detailing. The Doris Swing Coat. I am so pleased with this coat! It is fully lined with my classic heirloom quality cotton batiste and the lining is sewn in by hand! All in all, a ROCK solid piece with bold styling. The pockets on the front of the coat are functional and it has a 3 snap closure in the front with some pretty decorative buttons. 100% cotton. The Ivy Mod Mini dress. Ah, the simple things in life can be the best! I love the clean lines on this classic mini. This cotton dress is fully lined with my heirloom cotton batiste and has a pretty bow detail and a velcro closure. $32.00

The Francine bibbed dress. This kicky little number is just perfect for any casual affair. The 100% cotton polka dot fabric is accented with a pretty cotton eyelette trim and ribbon details. Lined neckline and a velcro closure. $28.00

Well, here they all are, FINALLY! Whew, what a marathon it has been to get this all done and ready to go. And, I must say, I'm very pleased with the results. I hope you like all these little Blythe goodies too ;-)

I got a couple emails today from loyal customers alerting me to the existence of a familiar dress design coming from another etsy shop owner. Does this look familiar to you???!!! There's no way to prove she copied from me anyway, and the union jack is a popular icon to boot, but it is a rather startling similarity.

International copyright laws being what they are, I don't have much of a recourse, and truthfully I don't care too much either, but her prices undercut me rather badly. Since she's from China, she can get away with it.

I'm not going to do anything unless she starts selling a boatload of them, but I thought you all might like to see her stuff anyway. Her other stuff is really cute, so I'm not sure why she'd put a copy of my dress up on her site anyway.

OK, so I went a bit bonkers over the pure simplicity of black and white and created a whole collection of outfits in these simple colors. The same goes for the charms. The sterling charms, the pirate and the simple cross both cost $2.00 more, so when you request your charm choice please remember that. Each of these skirts has a two snap closure and a pretty french lace trim with bows topping off the chains. The chain is a basic metal, and should not rust. The sterling charms will tarnish a bit with time. Any silver cleaner will shine them right back up. Hand wash please and press under a towel for safety.

Look what's coming to the shop!

We love England here in GodesiaLand. So, to show our support of all things British we've designed several Blythe goodies decorated with the Union Jack. Our sweet Paulette is wearing the mini dress slathered with the bold red and white stripes of England. It's made of a light weight denim and lined with my usual heirloom cotton batiste. It has a two snap closure, but I may change my mind and use the doll velcro that is coming in the mail. I have to see what works better. The hem is frayed, sewn and fray-checked for stabilization.

Oh, I'm always looking for a new pair of Barbie maryjanes, but I tend to cringe over the prices. I actually shelled out $42 bucks for an elusive pair of red scalloped MJ's recently, my justification being that it was my Christmas present to myself this year. Mostly I haunt EvilBay and lurk around listings with bad photos of fuzzy Maryjanes that I think others might not see. I've lucked out that way several times (including once for a pair of highly desirable brown ones). But now, I've discovered a web site that is making them new and selling all kinds of yummy colors, like candy red, dark machine grey and mango, at a somewhat reasonable $10 to 12.50 a pop (I say somewhat, because when I can get a pair of shoes for myself for $12, tiny plastic barbie shoes seem comparatively expensive). Don't yell, I have a cottage business too.... The store's closed for a bit due to a relocation. As soon as they get moved and settled I'll be getting myself some of these. Strapless wonder! In the shop now...

I've been thinking about New Year's and this was the result. Classic black brocade with just loads of sparkle tulle edging the hem and bodice. A line of sequines details the flounce. This dress is fully lined with heirloom quality cotton batiste and closes with a zipper in the back. Zipper and tulle/sequine flounce are hand sewn in. Because of the slim fit of the dress, it defies gravity and holds itself up. Delightfully risque. Perfect for ringing in the New Year. Cheers!

All the formal gowns now close with a zipper. Because of the slim fit of these dresses, they do NOT have a lined bodice. All the seams are fray-checked. Each set comes with a matching hair bow and tulle petticoat. Price is still the same: $52.00.

I finally did an accounting of my real shipping costs and found out that I was LOSING money on shipping. Sigh...... Anyway, I really can't afford to do that, so I'm increasing my shipping rates by $.50 across the board. My apologies, but I don't see any way around it. Shipping first class with insurance in the US is now $4.00 and International first class is now $3.50. Adding another item will be $2.00 in the US and $1.50 Internationally.

The financial realities of life can suck a bit sometimes.....

I'll be shipping those out as I finish them and unfortunately can NOT guarantee a Christmas delivery on the commissioned items. Sorry about that.

More sneak peaks!

Right now I'm aiming for Friday, December 12th as the launch date for my Bronte Noel collection. It will be a close call for international sales, but all domestic shipping will certainly be good for Christmas. All pieces will be ready to ship and go out immediately as they are purchased. There will be 5 sets of party dresses (each with a bow or bloomers) 5 mini dresses, 3 formal gowns (including a tulle petticoat) and 3 faux fur coats. There may be more if I can get them done. I may also do a limited number of special requests after the fact, if you miss out on a design that you really want. Special requests will be on a first come, first serve basis and I will not be able to confirm shipping for Christmas delivery. Sorry about that.
